Cookie policy
Last updated 27 August 2026. If you only read one line: this site stores nothing on your device until you tell it to.
The short version
There is no analytics on this site today and no advertising pixel. We set no cookies of our own until you say yes. The one exception is the Google map in the footer of every page, and a second one at the bottom of each town page: Google sets its own cookies when those maps load, and we would rather tell you than let you find out.
What the law says
Regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 says we may not store anything on your device, or read anything from it, unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, or you have consented. Consent has to be a real choice: no pre-ticked boxes, refusing has to be as easy as agreeing, and you have to be able to change your mind later. That is why the banner has two buttons the same size and why there is a Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
What is stored whatever you choose

It is browser storage rather than a cookie, which means it stays on your device and is never sent to our server. It holds one word and a date.
What is stored only if you accept analytics
Nothing yet. When we add analytics it will be listed here by name and expiry before it is switched on, and everyone who has already answered the banner will be asked again, because the question will have changed.
What we deliberately do not do
- No advertising or remarketing pixels. No Meta pixel, no LinkedIn tag.
- No third-party fonts. The typefaces are served from this site, so your IP address does not reach Google or anybody else for them.
- No embedded videos, and no social media widgets.
- No selling or sharing of anything with data brokers.
The Google maps on this site
There are two. Every page carries a small map of the region we work in at the foot of it, and each page for a town we cover also ends with a map showing where that town is. Both are loaded from Google, which means your browser contacts Google and Google may set cookies on your device and see your IP address. Those are Google's cookies and Google's terms, not ours, and we get nothing back from them.
The footer map loads as soon as the page does, rather than waiting until you scroll to it. That is a deliberate choice by the owner and it means the contact with Google happens on every page view.
The map is there because it is genuinely useful for deciding whether we cover you. If you would rather it did not load, every browser can block third-party frames and cookies, and nothing else on the page depends on it. Google explains what it collects in its own privacy policy.
Changing your mind
Open Cookie settings from the footer of any page. Choosing reject also deletes any analytics cookies already on your device rather than merely stopping new ones. You can also clear everything through your browser's own settings, which will make this site forget your answer and ask again.
